When My Name Was Keoko

If I had to choose my favorite book out of all times, it would be the book When My Name Was Keoko by Linda Sue Park. This book takes place at Korea during the WWII and explains the situation the Koreans were in during Japanese Imperialism. Many rights and freedom were taken away from the native Koreans and they had to live under Japanese control for many years. I started this book mainly because I was interested in Korean history with Japan, but I ended up falling in love with this book because of the main character. She is such a young bright kid and when she goes through these hardships, you can see her change and you can understand her change. The author is very talented at making you feel like you are the main character even though she is much younger than you. This book I think will remain as one of my best books I have read unless I come stumbling upon an better book, which probably would be none.
