Harrison Bergeron

The ending of Harrison Bergeron wasn't really a surprise to me at all. The main reason that I think it wasn't surprising, is that in a setting with such kind of a background, it is not an odd thing to happen. It would be shocking if this happened in the current society, but in Harrison's world, I think this was the most possible thing that could happen to him.

I think the passage where George and Hazel talked about the consequences of taking the balls out of sacs, was a foreshadowing of what would happen to Harrison later on. Taking one ball out would cause heavy consequences, but with Harrison taking off all his handicaps, I think we could guess that most likely he wouldn't survive till the end.

I would like the story better if the story ended happily. For example, rebelling and overcoming the society, but then it would not really make people think much, With this king of an ending, it made me think a lot of the problems and this corrupted society.
